Otavalo, city in the north of Ecuador is not only home of the Ecuadorian Inca Empire, but today it gathers most of the artisans in the country.  It's pure culture at its best.  People maintain their native language Kichwa, traditional clothing and many of their customs.  Its market (one of the biggest in South America) is a true jewel, and has become a touristic attraction, all the while maintaining the most beautiful products such as textiles, jewelry, music instruments and many other handcrafts.
