ALPACA PRODUCTS
Imbabura, province in the north of Ecuador is not only home of the Ecuadorian Inca Empire, but today it gathers most of the artisans in the country. It's pure culture at its best. People maintain their native language Kichwa, traditional clothing and many of their customs. Its market (one of the biggest in South America) is a true jewel, and has become a touristic attraction, all the while maintaining the most beautiful products such as textiles, jewelry, music instruments and many other handcrafts.
Alpacas are native camelids from The Andes, bred in altitudes of over 3.500 meters. Their fiber is considered among the most noble in the world. It is soft, durable, silky, luxurious, and naturally water-repellent and hypoallergenic. There is no harm caused to the animal, of course!
Our products are hand-woven in looms by many artisan families in the community and are carefully checked by our head of production, the Anrango family.
